The Audit committee will convene their first meeting on the FY2024 audit, 2023 restatement, and 2024 single audit (for ARPA spending). I look forward to their discussion and input.

I hope that if the audit committee puts together another corrective action plan, that it will be given an actual response and follow-through, unlike the previous action plan. Despite a resolution from the council, we have not seen any progress or any evidence that the corrective action plan was taken seriously. The lack of timeliness is still an issue that we hope to resolve with new financial leadership.

UPDATE: The committee met on zoom and have organized a path forward to look at the restatement and FY24 and single audits. Committee members will be compiling questions for Deputy Finance Director Ben Brosch to answer at future meetings, starting Tuesday, September 15th. They are planning on scheduling an in-person meeting, as well as a meeting with the auditor.
